This class meets for 4 hours, in 2 days. Wednesday and Thursday

Prerequisite:

Each student should have a basic understanding of the Windows file system. Creating folders and working with files is fundamental to computer work. You should also be able to plot points on an X-Y axis.

Description:

This is a 2-session class - which are done on successive days.

A flash drive will be provided in the first session and wood will be provided for the second session.

During session one, students will be given directions on how to set up and use their flash drive and how to make a sign and a game board using the VCarve Pro software.

Session two will be done by with one-on-one instruction. The goal of this session is to learn the machine side of the process. The main items will be machine start up, initialization, and warm up. Followed by how to attach wood to machine bed including use of spoil board and clamps. The student will become familiar with the operation of the WinCNC machine controller software. Machine shutdown and cleanup will also be covered.

Note that this isn't a cheap undertaking! While cutting bits will be provided for session two, before you can do any real work you will need to purchase you own bits. A limited number are available in the lumber and many more online.
