The Club has classes to take your woodworking to the next level. Classes include areas of instruction such as box joints, how to cut a circle, several progressive classes on wood turning, box making, cheese cutters, cutting boards, CNC machine, and other classes as requested from time to time. Classes are presented for a small fee (usually about $10 plus a material fee). The Basic Wood Working Skill Class
These classes are for people new to wood working and want to learn how to safely operate our machines. Sign-up sheets are posted on the shop bulletin board. In one such class you will build a simple carpenters tool tote. This tote will find many uses around your home besides the obvious of carrying tools; like one place for all house hold cleaning supplies, irrigation supplies and tools or grandsons favorite beach toys.
Several Basic Class may be prerequisites to more advanced classes You are required to take these classes to move on to the more next level.
The Education Committee helps develop the curriculum and establishes which classes are available. They also coordinate the time, space and equipment needed to present classes. All lesson plans are approved by the Committee.

Would You Like To Teach In The Wood Club?
The SCW Wood Club is asking members to step up and teach a class to members interested in expanding their skill or increasing their skill level. If you have a skill set that you are proficient at, we need you to teach a class. We are developing a set of lesson plans to assist in developing the program so that new classes have a base to work from. Contact Jim Rich <email@example.com> with a short paragraph or two about what you would like to teach and your availability and how much time the class may take.
