The sled has two tracks that fit in the angle miter groves and are parrell to the saw blade. The fence holding the stock is perpendicular to the saw blade. Therefore, the operator can cut 90-degree angles very accurately. A piece of long wood can be held against the fence secularly and easier to handle then the angle miter tool. A stop can be attached to the fence so that multiple pieces can be repeatedly cut.
A metal detector can be useful to check for nails, staples, wire etc. in wood. Especially reused wood or logs that may wreck blades or will set off the Stop Saw.
